Mushrooms

About Me: Mushrooms are a powerhouse of nutrition and should become a part of everyone’s’ diet. Low in calories and fat and cholesterol-free, mushrooms contain a modest amount of fiber and over a dozen minerals and vitamins, including copper, potassium, magnesium, zinc and a number of B vitamins such as folate. Mushrooms are also high in antioxidants that are believed to protect cells from damage and reduce chronic disease and inflammation.

To store: Place whole, unwashed mushrooms in a brown paper bag, close it, and store in the refrigerator. This works because the bag absorbs excess moisture from the mushrooms so they don't get soggy or mouldy.
